Follow us on Google News2 अप्रैल 2022, एक तारीख जिसे कोई भी भारतीय क्रिकेट प्रशंसक कभी नहीं भूल पाएगा, क्योंकि 11 साल पहले इसी दिन भारत ने 28 साल के लंबे इंतजार के बाद दूसरी बार वर्ल्ड कप जीता था। मुंबई के वानखेड़े स्टेडियम में श्रीलंका को छह विकेट से हराकर टीम इंडिया प्रतिष्ठित ट्रॉफी जीतने वाली पहली मेजबान टीम बनी थी।
यह खिताबी जीत खिलाड़ियों, सहयोगी स्टाफ और अन्य गुमनाम नायकों द्वारा ईमानदारी से की गई कड़ी मेहनत का परिणाम थी। अपने बचपन के सपने को पूरा करने का यह सचिन तेंदुलकर का आखिरी मौका था, और भारतीय दिग्गज इसे पूरा करने में कामयाब भी रहे।
जब भारत का 28 सालों का लंबा इंतजार हुआ था खत्म
वर्ल्ड कप 2011 फाइनल में पहली बार श्रीलंका और भारत की टीमें आमने-सामने थी। 2011 वर्ल्ड कप फाइनल की शुरुआत प्रसिद्ध टॉस की घटना से हुई, क्योंकि दोनों कप्तानों – महेंद्र सिंह धोनी और कुमार संगकारा – के बीच गलतफहमी के कारण वानखेड़े स्टेडियम में दो बार टॉस किया गया। फिर श्रीलंका के कप्तान कुमार संगकारा ने टॉस जीतकर भारत के खिलाफ पहले बल्लेबाजी करने का फैसला किया।
पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए श्रीलंका ने महेला जयवर्धने के शानदार 103 रनों की पारी के बदौलत 6 विकेट के नुकसान पर 274 रनों का स्कोर खड़ा किया। आपको बता दें, भारत और श्रीलंका के बीच अगर वर्ल्ड कप रिकॉर्ड की बात करे तो पलड़ा कुमार संगकारा की टीम का भारी था। इससे पहले दोनों टीमें 7 बार वर्ल्ड कप में भिड़ी थी, जिसमें श्रीलंका ने 4 बार बाजी मारी थी, वहीं भारत ने केवल 2 बार जीत दर्ज की थी।
वर्ल्ड कप जीत के लिए 275 रनों का पीछा करने उतरी भारतीय टीम के लिए शुरुआत अच्छी नहीं रही, क्योंकि वीरेंद्र सहवाग दूसरी ही गेंद पर शून्य पर आउट होकर पवेलियन लौटे, जिसके बाद सचिन तेंदुलकर को लसिथ मलिंगा ने 18 रनों पर कैच आउट करवाया, जिसके बाद भारतीय प्रशंसकों की उम्मीदे गिरने लगी थी।
जब एमएस धोनी के छक्के ने किया कमाल
लेकिन अभी एमएस धोनी और गौतम गंभीर की पिक्चर बाकी थी। फिर क्या था, गौतम गंभीर और एमएस धोनी ने श्रीलंका के गेंदबाजों को जमकर धोया, और चौथे विकेट के लिए 109 रनों की साझेदारी कर टीम को लक्ष्य के करीब ले जाने में अहम भूमिका निभाई। लेकिन एक बार फिर गौतम गंभीर को थिसारा परेरा ने 97 रन पर बोल्ड कर भारत को बड़ा झटका दिया, हालांकि एमएस धोनी और युवराज सिंह ने सुनिश्चित किया कि अब आगे और कोई अड़चन न आए और भारत को दूसरा वर्ल्ड कप मिले।
फिर आती है एमएस धोनी के ऐतिहासिक छक्के की बारी, जिसे पीढ़िया नहीं भुला पाएंगी। अंतिम ओवर में, धोनी ने तेज गेंदबाज नुवान कुलशेखरा को लॉन्ग-ऑन पर एक विशाल छक्के के लिए मारा और इस तरह भारत को वर्ल्ड कप का ताज पहनाया गया। पूर्व कप्तान को 79 गेंदों में नाबाद 91रनों के लिए प्लेयर ऑफ द मैच चुना गया, जबकि युवराज सिंह को 362 रन बनाने और 15 विकेट लेने के लिए प्लेयर ऑफ द टूर्नामेंट चुना गया।
