Sounds stupid, but Andrew Symonds really was the kind of guy you expected to live forever, fishing and drinking beers and spinning yarns.
The guy swam for an hour through shark infested waters after his boat sank and lived to tell about it ffs.#RIPRoy

As the tributes continue to pour in, it’s clear that even if Andrew Symonds wasn’t the greatest cricketer of his generation, he certainly was the cricketer every Australian kid back then dreamt of growing up to be. That will perhaps be his greatest legacy #RIPRoy

Andrew Symonds gone…killed in a car accident. Hard to process this too.
A swashbuckling, down to Earth, Aussie hero who saved us against Pakistan in the World Cup & produced many other massive knocks…including the hip shoulder on that streaker!

As a cricketer growing up in NQ we all knew about Andrew Symonds. He was a prolific talent & though he moved to the big smoke to “make it” he was always the same big hitting all-rounder from All Souls in Charters Towers. He never changed & was always true to his NQ roots #RIPRoy
