ग्लोबल टी-20 लीग कनाडा आज देर रात शुरू हो गयीं. पहले मैच ने ही पूरे विश्व में मौजूद क्रिकेट फैन्स का ध्यान अपनी तरफ खीच लिया. पूरे मैच में कुल 31 छक्के लगे और दोनों टीमों ने मिलकर कुल 450 रन बनायें. इस मैच में सबसे बड़ी बात जो थी वह स्टीव स्मिथ का एकबार फिर से क्रिकेट मैदान में वापसी करना.
यदि लीग की बात करे तो इसमें 6 टीमें पहले एक दूसरे के खिलाफ खेलेंगी जिसके बाद प्लेऑफ होगा और फिर फैन मैच 16 जुलाई को भारतीय समयानुसार खेला जाएगा. सभी मैच किंग सिटी के मपेल लीफ नार्थ-वेस्ट ग्राउंड में खेले जायेंगे.
स्टीव स्मिथ ने की शानदार वापसी
डैरेन सैमी की टोरंटो नेशनल का सामना क्रिस गेल की वेंकुवर नाइट्स के साथ था. नाइट्स को पहले बल्लेबाजी का न्यौता मिलने के बाद उन्होंने 20 ओवरों में 227 रनों का बड़ा स्कोर बना दिया 4 विकेट खो कर. एविन लुईस ने ने जिसमें सबसे अधिक योगदान देते हुए सिर्फ 55 गेंदों में 96 रनों की पारी खेली इसके अलावा आंद्रे रसेल ने भी सिर्फ 20 गेंदों में 54 रनों की पारी खेली अपनी टीम को एक बड़े स्कोर तक पहुंचाने के लिए.
वेंकुवर नाइट्स ने इतना बड़ा स्कोर बनाने के बाद उसे बचा नहीं सकी. ऑस्ट्रेलियन टीम के पूर्व कप्तान स्टीव स्मिथ और न्यूज़ीलैंड टीम के ऑलराउंडर एंटोंन डेविश्च के साथ मिलकर टीम को जीत दिलाने में अहम भूमिका अदा करी. स्मिथ अपनी वापसी में काफी शानदार बल्लेबाजी कर रहे थे और 41 गेंदों में उन्होंने 61 रनों की पारी खेली. डेविश्च अंतिम समय तक खेलते रहे और 44 गेंदों में 92 रनों की पारी खेलकर टीम को जीत 4 गेंद पहले जीत दिलाकर वापस लौटे.
ट्विटर पर फैन्स ने इस मैच के खत्म होने तक अपने उत्साह को दिखाया. उन्हें भी मैच में काफी मजा आया लेकिन सबसे अधिक फैन्स को किसी की बल्लेबाजी का देखने का मन था तो वह ऑस्ट्रेलिया टीम के पूर्व कप्तान स्टीव स्मिथ की जो मौजूदा समय में 1 साल बैन के कारण अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट से दूर है उन्होंने मैच में अच्छी पारी खेलकर अपने सभी फैन्स को खुश करने का काम किया.
