बता दें कि, इस मैच में पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए मेजबान श्रीलंका ने 50 ओवर में चार विकेट खोकर 281 रन बनाए थे। टीम की ओर से विकेटकीपर बल्लेबाज कुसल मेंडिस ने 101 रनों की मैच विनिंग पारी खेली, जबकि कप्तान चरिथ असलंका ने 78* रनों का योगदान दिया। सलामी बल्लेबाज निशान मदुष्का ने 51 रन बनाए। जवाब में ऑस्ट्रेलिया की टीम 107 रन पर ढेर हो गई। टीम की ओर से सबसे अधिक रन (29) कप्तान स्टीव स्मिथ ने बनाए।
वहीं इसके अलावा पाकिस्तान और न्यूजीलैंड के बीच त्रिकोणीय सीरीज का फाइनल मुकाबला कराची के नेशनल स्टेडियम में खेला जा रहा है। इस मैच में पाकिस्तान ने टॉस जीतकर पहले बल्लेबाजी का फैसला किया है। टीम इस समय काफी खराब स्थिति में है, लेकिन अगर उन्हें मैच को जीतना है तो न्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ बड़ा स्कोर बनाना होगा।
