वहीं धर्मशाला टेस्ट के बाद भारतीय क्रिकेट कंट्रोल बोर्ड (BCCI) के सचिव जय शाह ने एक बड़ा ऐलान किया। उन्होंने इंसेंटिव स्कीम की घोषणा की, जिसके तहत अब टेस्ट क्रिकेट खेलने वाले खिलाड़ियों को मैच फीस के अतिरिक्त भी पैसा मिलेगा। लोगों का मानना है कि टेस्ट क्रिकेट को बढ़ावा देने के लिए बीसीसीआई ने यह फैसला लिया है।
इसके अलावा धर्मशाला टेस्ट के दौरान इंग्लैंड के महान तेज गेंदबाज जेम्स एंडरसन ने टेस्ट क्रिकेट में 700वां विकेट हासिल किया। इसके साथ ही एंडरसन टेस्ट क्रिकेट में 700 विकेट का आंकड़ा छूने वाले दुनिया के पहले तेज गेंदबाज बन गए हैं।
वहीं अनुभवी स्पिनर रविचंद्रन अश्विन ने दूसरी पारी में पांच विकेट लेकर इंग्लिश टीम की कमर तोड़ दी। पांच विकेट लेने के साथ ही अश्विन ने एक और रिकॉर्ड अपने नाम कर लिया। वह दिग्गज अनिल कुंबले को पीछे छोड़कर भारत के लिए टेस्ट क्रिकेट में सबसे ज्यादा पांच विकेट हॉल लेने वाले गेंदबाज बन गए हैं।
