भारत की न्यूजीलैंड दौरे पर शुरुआत अच्छी नहीं रही, टीम पहला एकल टी-20 अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैच हार गई, जिसके बाद हार का सिलसिला शुरू हो गया। भारतीय टीम जारी पांच मैचों की वनडे सीरीज में अब तक एक मैच भी नहीं जीत पाई हैं। 22 फरवरी को भारतीय महिला टीम को एक और निराशाजनक हार का सामना करना पड़ा, जिससे आगामी आईसीसी महिला वर्ल्ड कप 2022 को देखते हुए टीम की चिंताए बढ़ गई हैं।

भारतीय टीम को क्वीन्सटाउन में खेले गए चौथे वनडे मुकाबले में न्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ 63 रनों से शिकस्त झेलनी पड़ी, वहीं मेजबान टीम ने जारी पांच मैचों की वनडे सीरीज में 4-0 की अजेय बढ़त हासिल कर ली है। आगामी महिला वर्ल्ड कप 2022 से पहले भारत का ऐसा प्रदर्शन काफी चिंतनीय हैं।
बता दें, बारिश के चलते यह मैच 20-20 ओवरों का खेला गया, जिसमें न्यूजीलैंड महिला क्रिकेट टीम ने कप्तान सोफी डिवाइन (32), सूजी बेट्स (41) और अमेलिया केर (68*) की बदौलत पांच विकेट खोकर 191 का स्कोर खड़ा किया। लक्ष्य का पीछा करते हुए भारतीय महिला क्रिकेट टीम 128 रनों पर ही सिमट गई और यह वनडे मैच 63 रनों से हार गई।
भारतीय महिला टीम ने 19 के स्कोर तक अपने शीर्षक्रम के चार विकेट खो दिए थे, वहीं मध्य्रकम में कप्तान मिताली राज (30) और रिचा घोष (52) ने संघर्ष करते हुए टीम को सम्मानजनक स्कोर तक ले गई, लेकिन मेहमान टीम को शर्मनाक हार से नहीं बचा पाई। स्मृति मंधना ने इस मैच में केवल 13 रन बनाए, जबकि भारतीय खेमे का कोई भी खिलाड़ी न्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ 10 गेंदे तक नहीं झेल पाया।
भारतीय टीम के इस प्रदर्शन से फैंस काफी नाराज हैं, और उन्होंने अपनी तीखी प्रतिक्रिया ट्विटर पर जाहिर की हैं। इस सीरीज का अंतिम मुकाबला 24 फरवरी को खेला जाएगा।
