जिसके बाद 32-वर्षीय तेज गेंदबाज को मैदान छोड़कर जाना पड़ा और शायद वह एमसीजी में खेले जा रहे दूसरे टेस्ट के तीसरे दिन गेंदबाजी भी न कर पाते, लेकिन कैमरन ग्रीन के अंगुली की हड्डी टूट जाने के कारण गेंदबाजी कर पाने में असमर्थ होने के कारण मिचेल स्टार्क को गेंद हाथ में लेनी पड़ी।

मिचेल स्टार्क काफी तकलीफ में नजर आ रहे थे, जिसके बावजूद उन्होंने बॉक्सिंग डे टेस्ट के तीसरे दिन एमसीजी में गेंदबाजी की, जिसे देख दुनिया भर के क्रिकेट प्रशंसक उनके इस साहस और बलिदान के कायल हो गए हैं, और वे सोशल मीडिया पर ऑस्ट्रेलियाई स्टार की जमकर सराहना कर रहे हैं।
आपको बता दें, ऑस्ट्रेलिया के अनुभवी गेंदबाज का गेंदबाजी के दौरान खून भी बह रहा था, लेकिन उन्होंने तीसरे दिन का खेल समाप्त होने तक दक्षिण अफ्रीका के बल्लेबाजों पर दबाव बनाए रखा। बाएं-हाथ के तेज गेंदबाज ने दूसरी पारी में चार ओवर फेंके, जिसमें उन्होंने एक मेडेन ओवर डाला और 13 रन गंवाए।
इससे पहले, ऑस्ट्रेलिया क्रिकेट टीम ने डेविड वार्नर (200), स्टीव स्मिथ (85), ट्रैविस हेड (51), कैमरन ग्रीन (51*) और एलेक्स केरी (111) की शानदार बल्लेबाजी के बदौलत अपनी पहली पारी 575/8 पर घोषित की। वहीं दक्षिण अफ्रीका क्रिकेट टीम ने पहली पारी में केवल 189 रन बनाए थे, जबकि दूसरी पारी में उन्होंने मात्र 15 रनों के स्कोर पर पैट कमिंस को एक विकेट गंवा दिया, इस तरह ऑस्ट्रेलिया तीसरे दिन के खेल समाप्त होने पर 371 रनों से आगे चल रहा है।
आपको बता दें, दक्षिण अफ्रीका के लिए एनरिक नॉर्टजे ने सर्वाधिक तीन विकेट लिए, जबकि कगिसो रबाडा ने दो विकेट चटकाएं, वहीं मार्को जानसन और लुंगी एनगिडी ने एक-एक विकेट झटका।
