इसके बाद इंग्लैंड ने अपनी दूसरी पारी 264 रन पर सात विकेट पर घोषित कर दी। टीम की ओर से हैरी ब्रुक ने 65 गेंदों में 11 चौके और तीन छक्कों की मदद से 87 रन बनाए। उनके अलावा जो रूट ने 69 गेंदों में छह चौकों की मदद से 73 रन बनाए। जैक क्रॉली ने 48 गेंदों में 7 चौकों की मदद से 50 रन की अहम पारी खेली।
मेजबान पाकिस्तान की ओर से नसीम शाह, मोहम्मद अली और जाहिद महमूद ने 2-2 विकेट अपने नाम किए। आगा सलमान ने 1 विकेट झटका। इंग्लैंड ने मेजबान को 346 रन का लक्ष्य दिया।
पाकिस्तान जीत से 263 रन से पीछे
343 रन के लक्ष्य का पीछा करने उतरी पाकिस्तान टीम ने 20 ओवर में 2 विकेट खोकर 80 रन बना लिए हैं। अब्दुल्लाह शफीक टीम को अच्छी शुरुआत देने में नाकाम रहे और मात्र 6 रन बनाकर ऑली रॉबिंसन का शिकार हुए। बाबर आजम भी 4 रन बनाकर आउट हो गए। फिलहाल टीम के लिए अजहर अली की चोट सबसे बड़ा चिंता का विषय है। चौथे दिन का खेल खत्म होने तक सलामी बल्लेबाज इमाम-उल-हक 60 गेंदों पर सात चौकों की मदद से 43* रन पर खेल रहे हैं जबकि उनका साथ सऊद शकील की दें रहे हैं जो इस समय 24* रन बनाकर क्रीज में डटे हुए हैं।
इंग्लैंड की ओर से अभी तक कप्तान बेन स्टोक्स और ऑली रॉबिंसन ने एक-एक विकेट अपने नाम कर लिया है। पांचवे दिन टीम जल्द से जल्द विकेट लेने को देखेंगे और इस तीन मुकाबलों की टेस्ट सीरीज में 1-0 की बढ़त बनाना चाहेंगी।
